How the tables are related
A line runs from a field that points at another table's record to that table. Data Files keeps a record from pointing at one that is not there, and a query with both tables joins them by it.

Members
One record for each member, past or present.
| Field | Type | What it holds |

| ID | AutoNumber | The number Data Files gives each record. Other tables point at a record by it. |
| First Name | Short text | Their first or given name. |
| Last Name | Short text, required | Their family name. It must be filled in. |
| Short text | Where to send renewal reminders and news. | |
| Phone | Short text | Their phone number. |
| Address | Short text | Their postal address, for anything you send by post. |
| Membership Type | Short text | The kind of membership they hold, such as Standard, Junior, Family or Life. A new member starts as Standard. |
| Joined | Date | The day they first joined. |
| Renewal Due | Date | The day their next subscription is due. Move it on a year each time they renew. |
| Active | Yes/No | Ticked while they are a member. A new member starts ticked; untick it when someone leaves rather than deleting them. |
Payments
Every payment a member makes: subscriptions, joining fees, event tickets.
